Sven O. Freitag studied business administration, mechanical engineering and applied informatics at the University of Friedberg-Giessen, Germany, where he received the M.Sc. (Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing.) degree in 1992. Since then he was working in German public broadcasting companies (hr/BR) and international media industry (Bertelsmann/ Arvarto/BMG/Sonopress) as Consultant and senior project manager.

In this position, he was responsible for a number of large-scale, innovative consulting and implementation projects in the area of enterprise content management and broadcasting management systems to support journalists and production.

E.g. the first German implementation for Management of long-term digital archiving of audio information in connection with an automatic transmission sequence control at ARD together with IBM in 1996
or an “Digital Asset Management for BMG North America & Sonopress“ at Bertelsmann in 2001.

Since 17 years he is member of the planning department at Bavarian Broadcast (BR) and Program-Manager “Editorial – and program-scheduling-Systems”. There he was again responsible for implementing a lot of systems e.g. the “Digital audio & video archive”, “Broadcast scheduling System WHATS’On (MediaGeniX)”, “Picture archiving and distribution system BR-Bild (4allportal-Crossmedia)”.

Right now, he is finalizing the project for the new and innovative public traffic system FLOW (XEBRIS solutions gmbH) together with DigaSystem (DAVID systems gmbH) to support the traffic editorial staff and Radio presenters.
