Jon Holmes is a comedian, writer and broadcaster. Recipient of nine Radio Academy Awards, two Baftas, and three British Comedy Awards he has hosted his own shows on BBC 6 Music, Radio 1, Radio 2 (depping for Chris Evans on Breakfast and Steve Wright in the Afternoon) and BBC Radio 5 Live. His haunts BBC Radio 4 like a tiny ghos where, among other things he wrote and performed as part of The Now Show team for 18 years, co-created Dead Ringers, wrote and co-hosted four series of Listen Against, and his new series for 2020  The Skewer “a dizzying, dazzling, disorientating satirical river of sound” is already an award-winning hit. He’s also worked in commercial radio, hosting the legendary Xfm Breakfast Show for three years until he left to join talkRADIO for its launch. His comedy podcast The The One Show Show (which dissects and analyses BBC1’s lightweight magazine programme with a forensic level of detail it simply doesn’t deserve) is a popular download;  a live version recently sold out the London Podcast Festival. On TV, among many other things, he co-wrote the Bafta winning Horrible Histories, has  worked with the likes of Armando Iannucci and Harry Hill, and co-starred in one of Channel 4’s most complained about programmes, the mockumentary Ukip: The First 100 Days. He is also an multi-award-winning travel writer, most recently Highly Commended Travel Writer of the Year 2020 (British Guild of Travel Writers) and has, in pursuit of the story, been attacked by fire-ants while searching for mountain gorillas in Rwanda, hopsitalised by sea urchins diving off the coast of Puerto Rico, and hunted crocodiles at night with native tribes of Papua New Guinea.
