Francis Currie is responsible for the new Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio. Chris made national news headlines in the UK by leaving the biggest radio show in Europe - on BBC Radio 2 - to join Virgin Radio, a newly-launched digital-only national radio station in the UK. Francis is Group Content Director - Music Radio, for Wireless. He leads the programming, digital and social content for 27 radio stations across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. These include iconic brands such as Virgin Radio, Signal Radio, The Wave and Pulse in the UK and Dublin’s FM104, Q102 and Cork’s 96 FM in Ireland. Wireless is part of News UK, home to some of the biggest and most popular media brands in the UK and Ireland, alongside innovative video ad tech company Unruly. Before joining Wireless in 2017 Francis was an International Radio Consultant for ten years. He provided programming and research support to radio stations in 15 countries through Francis Currie Consulting and Currie Nordén Research. Prior to running his own consultancies Francis was Group Programme Director for Heart in the UK. He led Heart London to market-leadership in the capital city, beating Capital for the first time in its 30 year history. Previously he was launch Programme Director of Magic in London and the joint Managing Director & Programme Director of Emap Television. There he led The Box to become the number one music channel in the UK, beating MTV and VH1.
