Radiodays Europe Women takes place on Sunday March 29th, and in this three hour long masterclass you will meet Bob Shennan, BBC Managing Director, and other top level executives, who will share their own experience, and provide advice to women who aspire to be more empowered in the workplace, and to take the position they really want. The session will look at the current status for women around the world, and will offer concrete advice on how to actively better the conditions we work in, and how to feel more empowered.

Teresa Fragoso (Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality, President, Portugal)

Teresa Fragoso has been President of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) in Portugal since August 2016, a position she also held from 2011 to 2012. She was advisor to the  Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality between 2015 and 2016, as well as advisor to the Secretary of State for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers between 2005 and 2008, responsible for ​​gender equality and international relations.

She worked as a gender and development specialist with UNWOMEN in East Timor between 2009 and 2010.

Holds a master in “Gender and the Media” by London School of Economics and Political Science (University of London) and is a PhD Student of Public Policies at ISCTE – Lisbon Institute.

Change comes from the top. In this interactive session ask some of the senior executives in radio from around Europe about their experiences, the initiatives in their groups and how they are moving forward with equality and diversity. 

14.00-14.30 Empowering & Inspirational – Youth Stations from North to South

Marika Hakesberg (Head of Development Youth, DR, Denmark), Tine Maria Borresø (Head of P3 Youth Radio Channel, DR, Denmark) interviewed by Yolanda Tati (Digital Entrepreneur & Radio Host, Cidade FM, Portugal)

In this inspirational three way interview speakers from the north of Europe, Denmark, and from the south, Portugal, discuss their experiences of working on youth stations as young women. What have they learned, what are the differences from north to south, what advice they would give to anyone wanting to join a youth station and some further inspiring thought.

14.45-15.00 Empowering Women in Radio Sales & Marketing

Evie Omirou (Sales Supervisor Ant1 Radio, Cyprus)

Empowering women in executive & key managerial positions when it comes to radio sales and marketing in the radio and audio workplace by offering advice on how to make great sales and bring revenue to the station in a short period of time. Evie has 360 degree experience in sales and can relate to how the client thinks and acts and moreover how agencies works. For ten years working in Ant1 Radio, she has walked the path in more ways than one, being able to know how the client & the agency work alone & together and how this behaviour affects radio.

15.00-15.30 Mojo practical session

Filippo Solibello (DJ & Radio Host Caterpillar AM, Rai Radio2, RadioBattle, Italy)

Mobile journalism is a skill and Filippo Solibello is the king of ‘Radio in a Suitcase’. In this session he offers helpful hints and tips on how to become the ultimate mobile radio host. This is a practical session so be prepared to join in and make the most of having an expert in the room, from the very basics to more advanced questions this is a must see session.

15.30-15.45 Voice Coaching

Emma Rodero (Professor and Researcher, Department of Communication, Pompeu Fabra University, Spain)

Voice coaching specifically for radio broadcasters, we help you improve your voice skills whether you’re a presenter, newsreader, podcaster or want to develop your on-air voice presentation skills and presence.

15.45-16.00 Negotiation Skills

Jantien van Tol (Talent Coach, Talpa Network, the Netherlands)

How do you negoitate, what do you negotiate for and how does being a woman affect your negotiations? One of the key skills in the work place hear from an expert in the field how you can improve in this area. 

16.00-17.00 Networking Workshop: The big discussion!

She’s the newest member of the Radiodays Europe and will lead a workshop on the big topics for women facing radio today! This session is designed to share ideas and networking with the participants of this session and build your contacts network.

Radiodays Europe Women has now run for two years for Radiodays Europe and brings you the ‘Inspire’ networking session bringing together women and men from all areas of the radio and audio markets to discuss, network and share experiences.
