Radio in the digital landscape: An analogue Island or a Digital Ghetto? (Marko Ala-Fossi)
Marko Ala-Fossi is Senior Lecturer in Radio at the University of Tampere, Finland and a member of international research group called DRACE (Digital Radio Cultures in Europe).
He will reveal his views on European radio and the efforts to go digital, to be published in a book later this spring:
- What does the case of digital radio tell us about convergence- and why on earth we ended up with this situation?
- Does radio really have a separate future of its own- or has radio perhaps blown its future already?
- If radio can not remain as an analog island, can it avoid the danger of becoming a digital ghetto?
