Will we still listen to radio in cars?
08 Feb. 2010, 09:56
Radio still dominates media usage in cars. But the traditional car radio is on its way out replaced by multimedia sets integrating GPS navigation, telephone, iPod audio and PC functions. How important will radio listening be in these multimedia sets?
Leading German experts from BMW, Deutsche Telekom, Bayerische Medien Technik and the trend research institute TrendONE will give their answers in a session at Radiodays Europe.
In what way does the current development threaten radio? Or is it rather an opportunity to find new distribution channels and business models?
- Trend researcher Sven Tollmien, TrendtONE, Hamburg, will give a visionary overview on the prospects of in-car-entertainment.
- BMW’s Manager for Personal Entertainment, Michael Weber, will give the car manufacturers perspective on the future of radio in cars.
- Marcus Heitmann, Deutsche Telekom Labotories speaks about in-car-services from the viewpoint of the telecom industry.
- Rainer Biehn from Bayerische Medien Technik explains how different technologies can be combined and produce remarkable results for radio as well as media users.
- The session will be hosed by Alexander Zeitelhack
This session is proudly presented in cooperation with Medientage, Germany.
