Mobile phones : Golden opportunities for radio?

Mobile phones are perhaps the most important gadgets in people’s lives and they are getting more advanced. This development means new opportunities for radio as a mobile medium, but network operators and mobile phone manufacturers are also offering their own music and entertainment services, thus providing new competition. Who will decide on the role of radio in the mobiles of the future? What business models work for radio? How can a global market for radio in mobile phones be created?

Mark Jefford-Baker, Business Development Manager at Ericsson Multimedia, will present some new technical developments and give a perspective on future consumer behaviour. It will be followed by a discussion with telecom operators, broadcasters and mobile service developers; Eugenio La Teana, RTL Milan, Italy, Leif-Kjartan Bjørsvik, NRK, Norway and Mikko Linnamäki, Liquid Air Lab, Finland. Host: Martin Orell, TTP, UK.
